Canadian Multiculturalism Day at the Welland market

On June 29, 2025, SOFIFRAN celebrated Canadian Multiculturalism Day at the Welland market, in a warm and festive atmosphere. Several hundred people, including Welland city councillor Sharmila Setaram, gathered around a large buffet of flavours from around the world: fried plantains from Haiti, kofta from Sudan, grilled chicken from Palestine, kapsa from the Middle East, koshari from Egypt, and cassava leaves and tilapia from Africa. The day ended with music from the Toronto band Cloclo Claudel, giving the community a moment of joy and togetherness. Do not miss next year’s edition!
