On September 25, 2025, the Francophonie of Welland, St. Catharines and the surrounding area celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Franco-Ontarian flag in style.
On September 25, 2025, the Francophonie of Welland, St. Catharines and the surrounding area celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Franco-Ontarian flag in style. In a swirl of green and white, every school from daycare to secondary school, along with many francophone organizations including SOFIFRAN, came together to bring the Franco-Ontarian spirit to life.
The day continued with a festive afternoon at the Sacré-Cœur church in Welland, filled with songs, dances and personal stories full of emotion and pride. This time together was a reminder that the Francophonie in Ontario is not only a story to be told, it is a living reality carried by the energy of young people and the determination of an entire community.
As an organization committed to promoting the Francophonie and keeping it strong, SOFIFRAN is proud to have taken part in this historic celebration and to keep the French language and culture shining through its programs, its events and its community partnerships.
