Fété Ngira-Batware Kimpiobi: isolation, one of the main barriers to integration

Fété Ngira-Batware Kimpiobi has been the founder and executive director of SOFIFRAN (Solidarité des femmes immigrantes francophones du Niagara) since it began, in 2007.

The latest recipient of the Minister of Francophone Affairs Award for her commitment to Francophone immigrant families in the region, this community leader from Welland will release a guide for newcomers to Canada in December: Petit GPS pour ne pas perdre le nord.

Convinced that isolation is one of the main barriers to integration, Ms. Ngira-Batware Kimpiobi is looking into creating a community television channel to guide Niagara’s Francophone communities and bring them closer together.
