SOFIFRAN 2026 Annual General Meeting

On Sunday 20 September 2026, at three in the afternoon, the room at the ABC communautaire in Welland filled up. Members, volunteers, partners and friends of SOFIFRAN had come for the Annual General Meeting, some in the room, others online.

Gina Isidore, chair of the board, opened the gathering. She welcomed everyone and thanked the partners, the participants and the community for being there.

A year retold

The 2025-2026 annual report unfolded on screen, page after page. The page on community involvement was a reminder, line by line, of everything the organization took part in over the year.

The minutes of the previous meeting were passed from hand to hand. Everyone could follow along, ask questions and have their say. This is how a community organization moves forward: decisions are made together, in front of everyone.

A general meeting is not a formality

It is the day when SOFIFRAN answers to the people it works for, and when the community says in turn what it expects. A full room, on a Sunday afternoon in September, means something.
