The project in detail

At this unusual time, as society fights the COVID-19 pandemic, this project comes along at just the right moment. Its goal is to introduce seniors to a series of new activities that help them stay active and stay connected with one another. That starts with learning the communication apps that meet their current needs and that follow public health guidelines. Through this project, seniors are kept up to date on the pandemic and on any other useful information. Volunteers who speak Creole, Lingala, Swahili and Arabic take part in discussions on a wide range of subjects, from cultural, artistic and craft knowledge to customs and traditions. The ultimate goal is to give seniors a voice so they can share their experience and their knowledge.
