Community of practice in entrepreneurship for Black communities

The project is about building and running a community of practice where young Black entrepreneurs can strengthen their organizational capacity and access advisory services to improve their performance. Members share the challenges they face and their experience in a given field in order to deepen what they know and build new knowledge tied to their professional practice.

Project activities include mentorship, short virtual networking gatherings and presentations by successful role models. They also include tools for getting into e-commerce to promote and sell products, for sound financial management, and for using social media to advertise their businesses and raise their profile, so they can widen their networks and create business opportunities.

The project is led by SOFIFRAN, and it is open to any Black francophone entrepreneur living in Southern Ontario (see the list below). The expected results are to promote gender equality by encouraging women entrepreneurs to take part, and to support entrepreneurs by giving them tools to improve their performance. We plan to support 60 businesses over a period of 36 months.
