WELLAND, September 7, 2023. SOFIFRAN is delighted to announce to the community that the Canadian Women's Foundation has awarded it an economic development grant of $260,000.00, spread over four years.
WELLAND, September 7, 2023. SOFIFRAN (Solidarité des femmes et familles interconnectées francophones du Niagara) is delighted to announce to the community that the Canadian Women’s Foundation has awarded it an economic development grant of $260,000.00, spread over four years.
Thanks to this grant, Sofifran can set up a program that helps immigrant women go into business in the field of home child care. With this financial support, women will be able to gain the knowledge, the tools and the skills they need to run a business and to offer reliable, safe and affordable child care to families in Niagara.
Since it was founded in 2007, SOFIFRAN has worked to build the capacity of immigrant communities living in a minority language setting, so they can thrive and find their place in their host communities in the Niagara region. Our organization is a Francophone platform that promotes the participation of immigrants in the economic and social spheres, while also supporting their artistic and cultural growth for smoother integration into Canada.
