    WELLAND, September 7, 2023. SOFIFRAN is delighted to announce to the community that the Canadian Women's Foundation has awarded it an economic development grant of $260,000.00, spread over four years.

The project in detail

The “Entrepreneurship for immigrant women in Niagara” project is funded by the Canadian Women’s Foundation for a period of four years.

After the success of the project “Securing the economic future of Niagara women”, funded at the time by Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE), our aim with this new project is to set up a program that helps immigrant women go into business in home child care. Working with Niagara’s early years services, Sofifran will offer information sessions in French, designed for groups of women who want to set up their own child care service. With the support of this project, women will gain the knowledge, the tools and the skills they need to run a business and to offer reliable, safe and affordable child care to Niagara families.
