Students at Gabrielle Roy took part in the activities of the Voix du Futur project: a magic show by Marc Trudel where mathematics becomes a trick, then an improv workshop on stage.
Activity carried out as part of the “Voix du Futur” project, Vice Versa micro-grant D-54165 (Fédération de la jeunesse canadienne-française), in partnership between SOFIFRAN and the Conseil scolaire Viamonde.
Artist Marc Trudel presented his magic show, where every trick hides a mathematical idea. Students then came up on stage for an improv workshop alongside the actors, a way to build confidence and to express themselves in French in front of their classmates.
The project program included: a meeting with magician Marc Trudel and the magic of math; an Improteines show and improv workshop; living museums and Gumboots dancing; interactive quizzes, cooperative games and community meals.
