Activities carried out under this project
-
Fabric bag workshop at École secondaire Gaétan-Gervais
Students at Gaétan-Gervais designed their own fabric bags, with the school crest and their own drawings, as part of Vice Versa grant D-54196.
The project in detail
This project with the Conseil scolaire Viamonde, in the Oakville, Milton and Mississauga area, from kindergarten to Grade 12, is part of Vice Versa, the Fonds d’appui à l’école communautaire citoyenne. It sets out to build leadership among secondary school students, to create a strong partnership with SOFIFRAN and to promote the physical, mental and social well-being of students through activities in French built around creativity and expression.
Participating schools: École secondaire Gaétan-Gervais (Oakville), École élémentaire Du Chêne (Oakville), École élémentaire Patricia-Picknell (Mississauga), École élémentaire Horizon Jeunesse (Mississauga), École élémentaire Dyane-Adam (Milton).
Partners: SOFIFRAN, Conseil scolaire Viamonde, Vice Versa grant.
Activities held
At École secondaire Gaétan-Gervais, students took part in a fabric bag workshop: marker drawings and the school crest applied with a heat press, so that every student went home with a unique piece showing they belong to their francophone school. The elementary school activities will be added as soon as the photos arrive.
Thank you
We thank Vice Versa for its financial support, and the Conseil scolaire Viamonde for its collaboration. Thanks to this grant, students were able to live their Francophonie in an authentic, inclusive and creative way, while building lasting ties with the community.
