Vice Versa D-54196: schools in Oakville, Milton and Mississauga

This project between the Conseil scolaire Viamonde, Oakville, Milton and Mississauga region, from kindergarten to Grade 12, is part of the Vice Versa program, the support fund for the community citizen school. It aims to promote leadership among secondary students, to build a strong partnership with SOFIFRAN, and to promote students’ physical, mental and social well-being through activities of creation and expression in French.

Participating schools: École secondaire Gaétan-Gervais (Oakville), École élémentaire Du Chêne (Oakville), École élémentaire Patricia-Picknell (Mississauga), École élémentaire Horizon Jeunesse (Mississauga), École élémentaire Dyane-Adam (Milton).

Activities held

At École secondaire Gaétan-Gervais, students took part in a fabric bag making workshop: felt pen drawings, the school crest applied with a heat press, and every student leaves with a unique item that shows they belong to their francophone school. In the four elementary schools, Du Chêne, Patricia-Picknell, Horizon Jeunesse and Dyane-Adam, the year was marked by a circle of djembes, dance workshops, pinwheels made to understand the wind, stretching sessions and movement courses, a big day outdoors and a field trip aboard a Hercules aircraft.
